In the movie, Carl Kolchak, a newspaper reporter, and his former editor Tony Vincenzo reunite in Seattle, where Vincenzo offers Kolchak a job at the Daily Chronicle. Kolchak is assigned to investigate a series of murders in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, all of which involve young women. Believing the murders are committed by a vampire who needs the blood of young women to stay alive, Kolchak enlists the help of college student Louise Harper, a colleague of the latest victim, to gather evidence.
