Versailles

Louis XIV, the 28-year-old king of France, embarks on a quest to build the most magnificent palace in the world, Versailles, in 1667.

The French monarchy faces a crisis as the nobility begins to question its authority in the aftermath of the Fronde uprising in 1667. In response, King Louis XIV decides to relocate the royal court from Saint-Germain-en-Laye to his father's hunting lodge near Versailles.
