Jarhead

Anthony Swofford, a young Marine from Sacramento, joins the military in the late 1980s, despite his struggles during boot camp. He becomes a sniper alongside Troy and is deployed to Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War. The long wait for combat is filled with boredom, anxiety, and personal struggles. When the war finally begins, Swofford faces the harsh realities of war, including witnessing burned bodies and oil-drenched landscapes.
