In the dusty Piute Valley, two ranchers, Luke Atkins and Captain Dan Saunders, are locked in a bitter feud over a proposed dam. Meanwhile, their children, Sheriff Ron Saunders and Susan Atkins, struggle to find love amidst the tension. When the banker who's set to fund the dam project is murdered, Saunders becomes the prime suspect, and his son must arrest him. But as the investigation unfolds, a mysterious figure, the Durango Kid, begins to uncover a web of deceit, pointing to the local storekeeper as a prime suspect.
