Eccentric recluse "Mad" Martin is found murdered in the hills near his cabin, and his only companion, a mentally advanced dwarfed horse named Brillant, goes missing. The Three Mesquiteers, a group of riders, capture Brillant but are accused of murder by Sheriff Pillsbury and jailed. As they break out of jail and give chase to a group of men connected to Martin's murder, they uncover a web of deceit and betrayal that leads them on a thrilling adventure to solve the mystery surrounding Brillant.
