A biochemist from Washington D.C. named Stanley Goodspeed is recruited by the FBI to stop a former Marine General who has taken hostages on Alcatraz Island. The General, driven by personal tragedy, demands the government pay benefits to families of war veterans who died during covert operations. Stanley needs the help of a former British Intelligence Agent, John Patrick Mason, who has escaped from Alcatraz in the past and knows the island well. Together, they must work to disarm bombs and rescue the hostages before it's too late.
