A young woman, brought to a hospital in Covington, Maine after being pulled from the icy river, awakens with retrograde amnesia and no identification. As Sheriff Crowley investigates, she decides to check herself out of the hospital and heads to Charleston, South Carolina for a tree-lighting ceremony on Christmas Eve, hoping to find answers about her life and her connection to "Mark". Along the way, she forms a connection with nurse Paul Bennett, who is also traveling to Charleston, and together they embark on a journey that will be affected by their individual struggles.
