In this Republic B-western, a chilling scene unfolds with the graphic killing of young 'Boots' Hollister, even with most of it off-camera. The story takes place in the 1890s in Blue Springs, where Red Ryder and his aunt, The Duchess, operate a stage line. Con Hollister, released from prison and reformed, plans to return the stolen loot from a previous stagecoach holdup. However, his son Billy joins a lawless gang, led by Jed Quinlan, to rob the same stage, unaware of his father's plans. The gang escapes, but not before Hollister recognizes his son as one of the bandits. Quinlan then murders 'Boots' in cold blood, framing Red for the crime.
