Ghost World background

Ghost World

Two friends' light-hearted jest about a dating ad takes an unexpected turn, leading them to confront the challenges of love and growing up.

Two best friends, Enid and Rebecca, are navigating life after high school. They've always planned to move in together and avoid mainstream culture, including college. Enid's passion for art is met with disdain by their peers, and she's failed an art class due to her unconventional approach. The friends respond to a personal ad, leading them to Seymour, a 40-something who shares their sensibilities. As Enid becomes friends with Seymour, she begins to manipulate his life to avoid mainstream norms, causing her relationships with Rebecca and others to deteriorate.
