Brandon Cole Margera, more commonly known as Bam Margera, was born on September 28, 1979, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, to April Margera (née Cole) and Phil Margera. At the tender age of three, his grandfather bestowed upon him the nickname Bam, a moniker that stemmed from his childhood habit of running into walls.
Bam's ancestry is a rich tapestry of Italian, German, English, and Welsh heritage, tracing back to his paternal grandfather. As a teenager, he would frequently appear in articles published in Jeff Tremaine's Big Brother magazine, and he collaborated with his older brother Jess, as well as friends Chris Raab, Ryan Dunn, and Brandon DiCamillo, on the CKY video series.
Although Bam attended high school, his academic tenure was brief, as he dropped out after Chris Raab's suspension for defacing lockers with feces. However, his parents persuaded him to pursue a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, which he ultimately obtained.
In the year 2000, Jeff Tremaine brokered a deal with MTV to create a television program called Jackass, and Bam secured a spot on the show. Despite Jackass's two-year run, Margera continued to star in subsequent Jackass films and even had his own reality television series, Viva La Bam, which featured his family and CKY members, including close friend and Jackass star Ryan Dunn.
Throughout the years, Bam has appeared in various Jackass films and skateboarding projects. Tragically, in 2011, he lost his dear friend Ryan Dunn in a drunk-driving accident.
Currently, Bam is the host of his own game show, Bam's Badass Gameshow.
