Biography

Shareen Mitchell is a multifaceted American actress, born and raised in New York and Cairo, who has made a mark in both the entertainment and fashion industries. With a degree from Smith College, she is a proud and active lifetime member of The Actors Studio.

Throughout her career, Shareen has worked with esteemed directors at notable theaters, including The McCarter Theatre under Emily Mann, The GeVa Theatre under Anthony Zerbe, and The Laurel Grove Theatre under Barbara Bain. Her performance in "Tennessee in the Summer" at The Laurel Grove earned her an Ovation award nomination for best actress.

In film, Shareen has played leading roles in "American Heart" alongside Jeff Bridges and "Brooklyn Roses" directed by Christine Noschese. The latter film won numerous awards, including best Docu-Feature, at national and international film festivals in 2018 and 2019.

On television, Shareen has appeared as a series regular, recurring guest star, and lead actress. Her favorite roles include "Lucy" in "Hudson Street" opposite Tony Danza and "Virna" in "Boy Meets World" on ABC.

Before focusing on acting, Shareen spent 10 years in the fashion industry, working at Mademoiselle Magazine, Vogue Magazine, and Elite Model management in New York and Paris. This experience inspired her to launch Shareen Vintage, a renowned vintage business that was the subject of the reality show "DresscueMe at Shareen Vintage." The success of Shareen Vintage led to the creation of Shareen Bridal, a collection of bridal and evening wear.

During her time in fashion, Shareen also developed a passion for writing. This passion has now come to fruition with two stage projects. "Code Name: Triumph," a one-act, one-woman play, will premiere at The Latea Theatre in New York during the New York Theatre Festival in November 2021. "Who Are You," a full-length, one-woman play, is currently in pre-production and is set to debut in 2022.

"Code Name: Triumph" tells the story of a nine-year-old girl's imaginative escape from an abusive home, while "Who Are You" is a poignant exploration of loss and recovery that celebrates women and honors those who have shaped Shareen's life and understanding of purpose.
