Two undercover Texas Rangers, Tex Wyatt and Jim Steele, infiltrate the town of Thunder Gap to investigate the theft of food supplies meant for miners. Disguised as part of a medicine wagon troupe led by fellow Ranger Panhandle Perkins, they uncover a robbery in progress at the offices of the Hard Rock Mining Company. However, things take a deadly turn when Tex is attacked and an official of the mining company is killed, and Ed Ransom, the local freight company owner, is quick to shift the blame to Tex.
