The Independent Smelting Company is struggling to stay in business due to hijacked ore shipments, prompting its owner to seek help from Texas Rangers. The Rangers learn that if the smelter can't receive ore, it will be forced to close, allowing a rival corporation to take over. A key figure, Joan Manning, arrives with her fiancé, who advises her to sell the smelter to the rival company. However, the Rangers devise a plan to declare the smelter bankrupt, appointing one of their own as receiver, which leads to a violent confrontation with the rival corporation and its agents.
