Two best friends, Enid and Rebecca, are navigating life after high school. They've always planned to move in together and avoid mainstream culture, including college. The friends respond to a personal ad, leading them to Seymour, a 40-something who shares their sensibilities. As Enid becomes friends with Seymour, she begins to manipulate his life to avoid mainstream norms, causing her relationships with Rebecca and others to deteriorate.
