In the town of Mesa City, a ranch is purchased by Jim Stewart, who discovers that it's being terrorized by an outlaw gang known as "The Phantoms". After his cattle are stolen and his foreman is killed, Jim takes matters into his own hands, adopting the persona of the Durango Kid to track down the gang. Initially, he suspects Tex Harding of being behind the gang, but his opinion changes after meeting Harding's sister, Kitty.
