Steve Tisch is an American film and television producer and sports executive born on February 14, 1949, in Lakewood Township, New Jersey. He attended Tufts University and began his career in the film industry as a producer for Columbia Pictures.
Tisch's early work included producing the 1971 films "Cry Uncle" and "Such Good Friends". He later co-founded Tisch/Avnet Productions with Jon Avnet, producing films and television shows such as "No Other Love", "Homeward Bound", and "Risky Business". The company also produced several successful television movies, including "The Burning Bed" and "Silence of the Heart".
In the 1980s, Tisch launched his own production company, The Steve Tisch Company, which produced feature films such as "Soul Man" and "Big Business". He also produced several television movies, including "Evil in Clear River" and "Out on the Edge".
In the 1990s, Tisch produced several successful films, including "Forrest Gump", which won six Academy Awards. He also produced the films "Corrina, Corrina", "Dear God", and "Wild America". In the 2000s, Tisch merged his company with Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal's Black & Blu to form Escape Artists, which produced films such as "A Knight's Tale" and "The Pursuit of Happyness".
Tisch has also been involved in the sports industry, serving as the chairman and executive vice president of the New York Giants football team since 2005. He has accepted the Vince Lombardi Trophy twice, in 2008 and 2012, and was invited to the White House in 2008 to honor the team's Super Bowl victory.
In addition to his work in film and sports, Tisch has received several awards and honors, including the P.T. Barnum Award from Tufts University in 2007.
