Jason Voorhees, believed to be dead after a stabbing, is actually alive and escapes from the hospital. He returns to Camp Crystal Lake, where he begins killing a group of teenagers who have moved in next door to the Jarvis family. After killing Tommy's mother, it's up to Tommy and his older sister to stop Jason's murderous rampage once and for all.
